After many months of saving, I finally able to own my very first Apple iPod Touch! I have always wanted one after I say my friend's. The ability to browse through your song list using the carousel view is way cool!
I went down to Comex Show at Suntec Convention Hall last Saturday. It was crowded with people. There were so much to see. My friend and I walk through all 4 floors of exhibits. There were a few iPod Touch vendors. As usual, Song Brothers occupied the space near the entrance (like their retail outlet at Sim Lim Square). They however, do not offer discounts on their iPod Touch. I finally decided on another vendor. They give S$20 off their pricing for a 8GB version and there were about S$100 worth of freebies.
Only thing missing is the firmware version, which was the older v1. I have to forked out US$9.90 to pay for the firmware upgrade to v2.0. But on the whole, I am very satisfied with my purchase. Soon, it is time to look for accessories to decorate my player.
Apple has a very good marketing strategy. They build on their branding and design innovation. Their iTune software is a great tool for iPod users as well as a good ecommerce too. We get the stuff and Apple earn money. Win-win situation for both.
Nevertheless, my next purchase from Apple will be a Macbook Pro for my degree studies. Meanwhile, let me enjoy the music...
